DERRY -- An 83-year-old woman crashed her car into a column at Hood Plaza just before 12:30 p.m.

The woman, Cecile Filteau, was being helped by bystanders when fire crews arrived. She was alone in the Buick when she crashed into the building, a support beam outside  Papa Gino's pizza restaurant.

The fire department noticed a steel support was displaced by the crash, so they evacuated the restaurant and reinforced the building's facade.

The woman was taken to Parkland Medical Center for evaluation. Papa Gino's reopened for business at about 4:30 p.m.
